The amount of work that needs to be done is often daunting. Sometimes it can paralyze us and keep us from making progress. There is too much to do and it is hard to see the road ahead. Pausing, breathing, and simply starting is all we need to move forward. Figure out the best place to start. Don't think about "all of it", just focus on the task before you. If the task itself is too big and intimidating, break that task into pieces and focus on the first element. Allow yourself to feel the accomplishment of each piece as you progress through your work. This approach will allow you to feel less overwhelmed and more productive and purposeful. |
